Tomorrow is "Day for Daniel" where we are asking East Hills Public School students to dress in red and make a gold coin donation to help support the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
The Day for Daniel is a National Day of Action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. Wear Red and Educate, is it's simple but powerful slogan. Linking Daniel's very real story with child safety is a very powerful combination.
Day for Daniel is the largest child safety awareness day of its type in Australia. In recent years more than 1 million Australians joined with us in protecting children.
In 2014, over 900 schools in QLD registered to participate in Day for Daniel. In 2014, over 1,500 schools and 1,000 businesses across Australia registered to participate in Day for Daniel.
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation continues to support Victims of Crime particularly where that involves a child. This support includes; Funding medical expenses for victims of crime usually in the form of counselling, funding therapeutic activities including sporting and recreational pursuits to increase self esteem and self worth.
Also we will be planting two "Day for Daniel" roses on the school grounds in a morning planting ceremony and students will also be taking part in activities during class time following the theme of "Keeping Our Kids Safe".
So wear Red and make a donation to this great cause.
Many thanks
