National test
All students in Years 3 and 5 sit for the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test in May. There are four tests covering numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
You will receive a written report of your child's achievement in the tests. The results tell you how your child is progressing in these areas and can guide the learning support you give your child at home.
Our school is currently part of the National Partnerships Literacy and Numeracy program with East Hills Public School, focusing on Literacy. As a result East Hills Public School students have achieved outstanding results, particularly in Reading, in the 2010 National Assessment Program Literacy And Numeracy (NAPLAN).
The following graph shows the outstanding growth of East Hills PS (the green band at the far right), outperforming all other schools in the region and state.
The yellow line shows the School Education Group area; the red line is the State, and the black line is all NSW public school students. The blue bands show the results of other public schools in the region.
